Pregnancy Yoga & Birth Preparation 10 Week Cycles

in person in Beaconsfield & online

From the beginning of 2026 Small Blessings offers 10 week Pregnancy Yoga cycles which include

🌿 a 6 week in-depth course - six 2 hour workshop-style classes - Thurs 6 to 8pm

🌿 three 90 minute pregnancy classes - Thurs 6 to 7.30pm

🌿 end of cycle community gathering per 10 week cycle (school term)

NB: the three Pregnancy Yoga classes are also open to those not taking the 6 week course.

The intensive is an immersion in which you both enjoy all the benefits of the yoga and meditation practice as well as hearing in more depth the philosophical and practical yogic teachings, learning about and preparing for birth, engaging in transformative personal processes and preparing for motherhood (of your first baby or becoming mother of more) in a nourishing and wise way. See below for an outline of the course content.

You receive a printed manual and workbook as well as additional resources and are guided to establish a home practice. You will also have access to 2 recorded pregnancy yoga classes to do in your own time.

These cycles also offer the opportunity to go through the process in a supportive group of women, make new connections and feel supported. You can also include your partner in week 6.

The end of cycle community gathering (week 10) is a chance to relax and connect, share meditation, share food, and celebrate women in the community in the various stages of their passage.

Keep coming for the whole of your pregnancy by coming to the next cycle too (you hear the same themes with different ears in the different phases of pregnancy) and all the way up to the birth. There’s a special fee for that, which includes a one on one guidance session with Jai Ram.

From 7 weeks after the birth there’s the chance to continue beyond to Mama Baba Yoga with others from your group . You might even continue beyond that to women’s yoga!

There are discounts for repeat attendance and even a special pro rate fee for your whole pregnancy.

6 Week Course Content

    • teachings of Kundalini Yoga on the journey into motherhood – role of the mother

    • 120 days - a soul enters

    • understanding and embracing the changes – physical, emotional/psychological, spiritual

    • listening to your needs, cultivating trust in your intuition

    • nourishing yourself and your baby – yogic lifestyle suggestions

    Intro to KY for pregnancy – posture, movements, breath, focus, mantra, relaxation and meditation

    Go home with a suggested practice to do for yourself daily.

    • the story of physiological birth

    • the music of birth and the symphony of hormones – their physiological and psycho-social purpose

    • understanding the principles of birth to know what is needed to support you on that journey

    • relating to birth – where are you at with it right now?

    Yoga, relaxation, meditation and intro to the birth preparation exercise.

    Suggested resources.

    • getting a clear picture of how physiological birth intersects with different birth settings

    • understanding protocols of your midwife, the family birthing centre or hospital

    • understanding pros and cons of induction, epidural, caesarian, “managed” fourth stage etc

    • using your informed intuition to make choices

    • optimising your chances for a great hospital birth (if this is your choice)

    • gentle caesarian tips

    • how might this knowledge affect your choices of where and with whom to give birth?

    • birth mapping

    • learning from experience: if you’ve given birth already, what did it teach you?

    • importance of mind in birth

    • bringing the light of awareness to your beliefs about life, yourself, birth – an opportunity to grow in readiness for mothering this child

    • identifying how you react in times of stress and crisis and making a plan as to how to meet the crisis

    • integration phase – the golden hours, the first 3 days

    • the universal understanding of the first 40 days as a precious transition

    • the 5 warms to make this a cozy and peaceful time

    • Kundalini teachings on the first 40 days, including Ayurvedic wisdom and the vital role of sevadar (one who serves the mother)

Booking Options & Fees

6 week intensive course: includes 6 x Thurs night classes, printed manual/workbook, 2 recorded classes, partner attendance week 6 - $260 (if repeating $220)

Full 10 week cycle: includes 6 week intensive course as above + 3 x 90 minute Thurs evening Pregnancy Yoga classes + attendance at end of cycle gathering - $360 (if repeating $320)

Individual 90 minute casual Pregnancy Yoga class: (space permitting) $30

Book for your whole pregnancy @$30 per week (excluding school holidays) and attend a one on one session (normally $117 for students) for free. Eg. start at 16 weeks of pregnancy and book up to 39 weeks (in case baby comes before 40 weeks) = 23 weeks @$30 = $690. Email to clarify before booking.
