For postnatal yoga, what is the ideal time to start?
Any time from 7 weeks post-birth. The younger your baby is, the more they will naturally want to be held by you in class. This is totally fine and you will still get a lot of benefit out of coming. As your baby grows they will become more happy to just be there in your presence as you practice. As they get bigger they will love to be included, sometimes being on yoru body or sometimes gazing into your eyes as you hold a posture or move and breathe. The bigger still babies love to explore the space and each other. So any time is good to start. When babies start toddling is a good time to stop, as then they need something else!

What if my baby cries during Mama Baba Yoga?
They will cry at some stage almost guaranteed! It’s OK! Everything is welcome and included in class and there’s no expectation that it will be silent and still. Part of postnatal yoga practice is the art of being ok with what is and the mastery of a woman is to learn to find the calm of acceptance inside the chaos!

How does Kundalini Yoga style of pregnancy yoga help prepare for birth? ?
In Kundalini Yoga one of the emphases is on strengthening the capacity of the nervous system to hold experience. Birth is an intense experience so in this way the whole practice is beneficial. We practice in pregnancy yoga a specific birth preparation exercise which involves holding the arms out to the sides for a period of time. This helps you train yourself to meet the discomfort, to breathe through it and to transform it. It gives you the opportunity to address your mind and practice using it to serve you in this most transformative, peak experience.
